MARKET REPORT.
The Franklin Farmers’ Auctioneering Co*, litd. report:— At our usual weekly sale on Friday we had an average number of pigs entered, but not enough to satisfy the demand., Prices ruled higher than last weekiTWeaners (small*) 12s 6d to 17s ; rhenium 17s ,6d ,'to ,20s ; good weaners irOsn. 22s 6d tb 265; slips 30s and stores up to 375. Poultry came, fprward in, heavy entries, 'wifji prices equal: 1 to last week* Hens (light) 2s lOd to 3s* heavy up to 4s 9d, ducks 3s to 3s lid, roosters (young) 3s 6d to 4s 3d, pullets 5s 3d. In vegetables we had good entriesCabbages sold at from Is 6d to 4s 6d dozen, cauliflowers 4s it* 9s dozen, potatoes (new) lYad to 2d per lb, miscellaneous vegetables at usual rates. A quantity of sundries were sold and realised satisfactory priees„ Qn Thursday we held a clearing sale for Mr Whiteford. We had a good attendance, and bidding was keen “throughout. Everything cold at srtisfactory prices. Piano sold for £75, A large quantity of engineering f ools were offered, for which competition was exceptionally keen.
