DISTRICT NEWS.
BOMBAY. FAREWELL TO A POPULAR CREAMERY MANAGER. Mr and Mrs J. Moffitt were given a public farewell in the Bombay Hall on Monday eveping last, when a large number were present from this and surrounding districts. During fche lasi few years Mr Moffitt has been manager at the local creamery and casein factory, and has proved a most efficient all-round man, and the cream turned out being of the best quality, while the casein made at Bombay is not excelled by any made at any of the N.Z. Dairy Co’s sixteen factories. That the management recognised Mr Moffitt’s ability as a cream-grader is eviderit, as his new duties are that of cream-grader at the Pukekohe factory. Cream suppliers can rest assured: of a square deal, as in “Jack” we have a grader who knows his work, and will do jt without fear or favour to anyone. The farewell took the usual social form, Messrs Barker and Brown providing the music/' Mr C. Pople sang a couple of songs, and Mr A. J. Pople recited. During the evening Mr Moffitt was presented with a cheque for over £2O. from his Bombay friends, by Mr A. Best, who briefly voiced the sentiments of those present. Mr Moffitt, in returning thanks, mentioned that in the event of the folk of Bombay forgetting him, he, by giving them second-grade a time or two, would be surely remembered.
