BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY.

(To the Editor).

Sir, —What has happened to the Pukekohe Beautifying Society ? We have not had a word about it for weeks. Is it like m,any other socities started in Pukekohe, which go off with a fizz and then splutter out? One would think that after the publicity given at the start ithe Society would have kept itself before the public, and advertised or canvassed for members persistently and thoroughly. Yet one individual states he sent his subscription in some weeks ago by post and yet has never had it acknowledged. Poor Pukekohe! It expected so much from the Societj. Yet not a word of how many trees have been planted or anything.—l am, etc INQUIRER.
