TRAINING COLLEGE AT TUAKAU.

FOR AGRICULTURAL PURPOSES.

H. G. Bartleet’s beautiful estate at Dominion Road, Tuakau, was sold last week. It is understood the property, comprising over three hundred acres, and one of the finest lesidences in the Waikato, has been acquired by the Marist Brothers for the purpose of instituting a Boys Agricultural Training College. The site has been well chosen, as no finer property for the purpose could be obtained anywhere in the .North Island. The beautiful, sunny position of the farm on the sloping hills of. Tuakau naturally makes itelf a most healthy position besides possessing the most picturesque view of the lovely Waikato Valley. The property was at dVie time the home of Mr H. G. Young, of Auckland, and no money was spared to make it one of the most modern farms in the Dominion. Every modern convenience was installed in the wav of milking machines, shearing machines, and lighting for the homestead and outbuildings. The homestead itself is a large and up-to-date building, standing on an acre o well-kept lawns and orchard. The orderly kitchen. gardens and po try runs surrounding the orchard are really a credit to the past management. The property is well watered by running creeks, and still has a small amount ■ of beautiful ; natural bush. For general farming instructions to the rising, generation this should prove a valuable institution to the Dominion, especially under such capable management as the Marist Brothers, and the Tuakau district is to be congratulated in having it established in their midst.
