MARKET REPORT, The Franklin Farmers’ Auctioneering Company, Limited, report : At our usual weekly sale on Friday, we had good entries of pigs. Bidding was laggy. Weaners sold at from 14s to 28s, slips 30s to 395, stores £2 to £2 7s 6d. Poultry came forward in verj heavy numbers, and found ready sale. Hens (light) sold a't from 3s to 3s 6d, roosters (light) 4s, heavy hens 4s to ss, heavy roosters 6s to 7s. One choice line of hens fetched! 8s 3d. A quantity of sundries in the ' back yard sold at usual prices. Vegetables and produce came forward in large entries. Potatoes (Southern) 7s cwt., new potatoes 2d to lb; cauliflowers (small and blown) Is dozen, others from 3s to 6s per dozen. Cabbages from Is 6d. to 2s Gel dozen, carrots and parsnips 9s cwt, swedes entered but unsaleable. Onion plants were entered in large quantities and sold at from 3d to 4d per 100. Cabbage plants and cauliflower plants, in excess of demand, sold at from Is to Is Id per 100. Maize, sharps and bran sold freely Stocks of bran is very light.
