PEDIGREE JERSEY SALE.
The annual sale of Pedigree Jerseys under the auspices of the Auckland Central Jersey Breeders' Association, took place ' at the A. and P. Show grounds on Tuesday last. The auctioneers were Messrs Alfred! Buckland and Sons, in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited. There war a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the province. Bidding was keen during the early part of the sale, but towards the end it commenced to hang and some of the lots were hard to dispose of. Some of the cattle were in good condition, but the majority were rather backward on account of the scarcity of feed during winter and early spring. Young bulls, particularly, anything of size, and in good condition, were in keen demand. The top price, 122gns, was paid by Mr J. F. Vosper, of -Matamata, for the 10-months-old bull, Snow Maid’s Dairy Boy, bred by Mr C. Af Willis, of Pukekohe.
