ONEWHERO. FOOTBALL DANCE . In spite of the inclement weather the • Onewhero Football Club dance was a great success. No trouble had been spared and the decorations.were most artistic. The walls of the ballroom were covered with nikau palms, arum lillies and crimson rhodendrorns artel the stage was reserved for the musicians and decorated with flags and lycopodium. Thee lub colors and a pendant bootball being a happy.toueh. The music was supplied by Mr Morrah’s orchestra (piano, violin, flute, and bells, and "was absolutely nrst- - class. Supper was arranged in a iarge marquee, the poles of which were covered with lycopodium, with narcissi and jonquils intersperesd midst its graceful foliage. The same effect of nikau palms, arums and rhododendrons as in the ballroom was repeated round the sides of the marquee. Amongst the very charming gowns that were worn by the fair votaries of terpsichore, I noticed Mrs C. Walters (the wife of the president of the football Club) in black silk; Mrs MacNaught, in French blue, outlined with bands of yellow ribbon ; Mrs Taylor (Tuakau), wore d very handsome gown of shell pink charmeuse, with irredescent butterflies ; Mrs M c Kenny, nattier blue silk net; Mrs Pell.cw, powder blue figured voile; Mrs Floyd, vieux rose silk, with over-dress of silk net ; Mrs Thomson, cream silk ; Mrs Pattullo, nggier brown georgette, over silk i Mrs Crawford, pale pink silk with overdress of jewelled net ; : Miss MVvlahn, jade green ai.'k; Miss K. McGahan cream georgette ; Miss Dickens, green net, outlined with beads ; Miss Martindale, brown silk with powder blue sash ; . Miss Steel, (Auckland), pale pink crepe de chine and georgette ; Miss Mona Steel, eau de Nile silk; Miss Brakette, .maize silk and black with original design in black feather ; Miss Cathcart, « very pretty pale blue silk, the corsage showing an under-dress of white lace ; Miss Morrison, pale blue crepe de chine; Miss Ewing, green and gold net ; Miss Lewis, powder blue and gold ne)fc over white silk ; Miss Shiress, cream silk and georgette; Miss Mac Naught, pal\9 blue silk and orange net ; Miss MacKenzie, in white silk and georgette ; Miss Hickey, French blue.
