MILKING SHORTHORN SALE.
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27. The associated breeders of the > Franklin district are to be congratulated upon the very fine catalogue produced for th£ sale on the 27th of this month. It is full of information, not only to the cattle breeders, but contains such a combination of advertisements from the various busi- j ness concerns trading around one common centre, that it’s completeness cannot be denied as a source of information to people residing outside the district, and places them in the fal!i knowledge and satisfaction of being supplied with anything wanted being obtainable on the spot. Produced by the Franklin Times, this catalogue has been posted to all association breeders from Pukekohe to to Wanganui, and even to the southern breedei's. Pukekohe being in the eenre of a great cattle producing district, bids fair to be the future centre for all kinds of cattle sales. The dairymen and the cattle graziers alike must feel that a railway centre decides that .point, as convenience has a deal to do with comfort. The outlook since rain has fallen so bountifully is now in evidence, for a plentiful supply of food to the needs of the dairymen and grazier alike.
A diagram will be on exhibition in Mr Cannell’s window on Thursday and Friday nex|t, showing a well-de-vised scheme of finding out bloodrelations and strains of pedigree stock, so enabling breeders to concentrate on a certain line of future operations.
