HONTHLY MEETING.
The monthly meeting of the Man ilka i 1 County Council took place on Tuesday, last, when there were preseent: Crs A. D. Bell (chairman), S. W. House, At. E. Hattaway, J. M, Davies, F M. Waters, S. A. Browne, F. Grainger, the clerk (Mr Edgar Ashcroft), and the engineer (Mr V r . J. Lopdell). Rlangere Water Loan.
The Public Trust Office intimated that £4OOO, balance of the Mangere Crossing Waterr Supply Loan of the £7OOO, had been remitted and placed to the Councils credit at the bank— Received.
Wlangere £30,000 Loan.
With regard to the £BOOO loan, the State Advances Office wrote stating they would make an advance of £2OOO at an early date.—-Received. ftSedowbt Road Loan. The Public Trust Office advised that. £625, the first instalment of the Redoubt Road loan of had been remitted and placed to the Council’s icredit at the bank.—Received. Brown's Read. Mr W. Moshenn complained of the bad state of the cast end of Brown’s Road,- Papakura Riding, and asked if the re-grading, which has been authorised, could be carried out.—Referred to engineer and Riding member to attend to. Access Road. Messrs Burnacke and McLiver complained that the adjoining 1 owners of their property on the Papakura hoational Reserve had fenced in the clerical ed road, and asked if it could be opened up to give access lo then properties.—Referred to. engineer and Riding member to look into. ' V ■ FEat'.Bush Road. Mr P. Hi. Watts, of Hamilton, wrote thanking the Council for its acidonin taking steps to have the road opened at Flat Bush, Papatoetoe Riding, and requested that the dedication be completed as soon as possible. Received . Brookby Hit!. 6 Mr B. T. Brooker, Turanga Riding, oh behalf of the Whitford suppliers, asked if something could not be done to improve the Brookby Hill.—Refer red to the engineer and Riding member. fflcumoukai Hill Road. Mr A. S. Rose and nine others petitioned the Council relative to the Moumoukai Hill Road, and suggested that £IOOO of the* loan be expened, providing a Government grant could he obtained on a, £ for £ basis to subsidise it, otherwise they suggest that the- loan should be dropped altogether and. get the* £SOO grant re-voted.— Left to Riding member and engineer. Qrere to F4p,ss VaSSey. Messrs Cashmore and Rowles, _ re’presenting the Or ere.settlers, waited on the Council with a request that steps be taken to raise a' loan for the purpose of metalling the main road from Ore re to Ness Valley. They pointed out that the ratepayers were agreeable to the formation of a speciah rating area. They were also prepared to raise: a loan of £2500 at 6 per cent., provided the Government subsidised "this amount on a £ ioi £ basis, the Council to link up the metal from Kawa Kawa Bay to Ness Valley. It was therefore decided to amply to the Minister of Public ,Vorks for the subsidy, and a petition to raise a loan is to be circulated for signature.
