THE TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

MEETING OF ADVISORY COMMITTEE. The fin&l meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Pukekohe Technical .High School was held 1 on Tuesday night. There were present: Messrs. F. Perkins (chairman), W. F. ! J. Munro (director), C. Cooper, Jas Crosbie, W. Wyatt, J. Patterson'and A. F. Brown (secretary). : Apologies for absence' were received from Messrs J. Roll is ton and J. G. Ward. " With reference to the committee’s application to raise £ISOO by interest bearing debentures to provide additional .accommodation at the school, the Secretary to the Treasury advised that permission had been granted to raise the money at 6 per cent, per annum. Full particulars of Government securities offered, at 6 per cent., with the ■necessary forms could be obtained from the pest office or Bank of New Zealand. The currency was for five or: ten years. Interest was not free of income tax. —It was resolved to launch out shortly on a campaign to raise the money and an effort is to be made to get a grant from the- j Government ; towards the cost of additions.

The Minister of Education (Hon. C. J, Parr) wrote with reference to the Board’s letter regarding Cabinet’s approval of the proposed issue of debentures for the purpose of providing an additional class room at the Technical High School and advised that the applications for the debentures shoud be made to the . Secretary to th% Treasury; l Wellington, who should be informed when application. was made that the mOliey was to be used. for additioins , to the Pukekohe Technical High School. It would, perhaps, be desirable to insure that the whole amount of £ISOO would be taker) up in‘debentures before any definite., application was made to the Treaskfy^-Received. Mr Munro pointed out that more apparatus was needed at the school, and. on the motion of Mr Patterson it was decided to have a list of necessities compiled and-.placed before the Director of Technical Education when he visited Pukekohe, with a ireouest that the articles be supplied.
