PERSONAL.
Mr W. E. Gundy, senior clerk at the local post and telegraph office, for some years, who has been transferred to take up a similar position at Tauranga, departed, accompanied by Mrs Gundy, on Saturday last for his destination. Prior to his departure he ~was met by the local staff. Mr J. H. Waters, postmaster, on their behalf, presented him with a set of military hair brushes as a mark of the esteem in which .he was held. Mr Waters eulogised the work of the recipient during his connection with the local office. Mr Gundy suitably responded. Mr W. Evans, of Huntly, has taken up the position of senior clerk at the local post and telegraph office a position vacated by Mr W. E. Cundy, who was transferred to Tauranga.
