N * EiARKET REPORT. | The Franklin Farmers’ Auctioneer- ' [ irrp; Co., Ltd., reports as follows : j On Wednesday we held a special sale of timber at Mercer. Bidding j was duly but eventually we quoted j the lot at prices'from 25s to 12 per j hundred feet. On Thursday we held a fat pig salej at the top yards. Choppers brought j 42 • to £4 7s: baconerS up to £5 3s. I -At our usual weekly sale on Fri- j day, we had an average yarding of - pigs. 'All sold except one line. Prices j realised for v/eaners : Small 10s to 16s ; good six weeks brought 23s to 255; eight weeks’-old sold at from;; 23s to 27s ; Stores £2 to £2 10s. At the mart, poultry was penned in good numbers, but fell short o [ ‘ the demand. Prices realised : Hens, fair quality? 3s to 3s 6d ; heavy, 4s 6d to ss; roosters, light, 3s to 4s. No heavy roosters penned. Ducks, 4s Go to 4s 9d. Vegetables came forward in heavy entries, and all sold with an unsatisfied demand. Brocoli sol'd at from Ss to 21s per dozen ; cabbage, Is 6d to 2s 8d dozen ; carrots, 6s cwt ; onions, Ss cwt.
