Objection to Sanitary Depot. Mr E. Brown, Otahuhu, wrote stating that it had come to his knowledge that a portion of his farm on the Tamaki river had been suggested as a suitable sanitary site for the Papatoetoe township. He considered that it was a most unsuitable one for many reasons. It was not of sufficient distance from his own and \aliens other houses. It was also in an exposed position, being 'within view of the Great South Road at -Otahuhu and of a large portion of Otahuhu, which was becoming closely* settled. Many picnics were held on-rthe property during the summer months and the Tamaki river being the only bathino- place for some miles was greatly used during the summer,-while there was also a good deal of boating carried out in the immediate vicinity. He also objected strongly for peisonnl reasons, on account of bis milking foi town supply. A sanitary-depot would be most objectionable and h.ry result in his not being allowed to supply milk to the city. He solicited the Council's co-operation in the matter. Riding member to look into.

Mr Waters and l, spent a day on this work. We have taken levels, and find that the greatest obstacle is one fair[j large gully, which will take about 1000 cubic yards, with 54 feet of 2ft pipes. The settlers are prepared to give free labour to assist with the work. Mr Adamson is also prepared to give the corner of his property, several chains in length, to deviate the road to an easier" grade and cheaper road. Creamery Road Cess-pit.
