Notice is hereby given, in compliance with Sections 77, 79 e .82, SB, 89, of the “Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” Section 50 of the “Rating Act, 1908,” and Section 41 of the “ Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1905,” that it is the intention of .the Pukekohe Borough Council, at a Special Meeting to be held on MONDAY. August 29, 1921, at 7.30 p.m., to strike and levy the following rates for the year ending March 31, 1922. A General Rate of l%d, a separate Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of 11-36 d, .and a separate Street Lighting Rate of l-9d in the pound on the Capital Value of all Rateable Property within the Borough, also:. A separate Water Rate —-(I) Consumers’ rate in respect of the ordinary supply (8000 gallons per six months) on ail lands and buildings to which water is supplied, to bp based on the annual value, viz.: (a) where the annual value .does pot exceed £l2 ,10s the sum of 10/-, (b) where the annual value exceeds £l2 10s■ 5 per cent, on the first £3OO of such value, and 4 per cent, on the' balance of such value above £300; (e) upon all buildings used as stores or warehouses or for any purpose other than that of cv.veliinghouses half the above rates. (2) Non-consumers’ rates. —Upon all lands and buildings to which water can-be, but is not supplied, situated within 100 yards of any part of .the waterworks, one-half of the rates 'abovementioned. (9) Upon all lands and buildings supplied with private mains 5 per cent, on the first £59, 2pj per cent, on the second £SO, and 1 per cent on so much of such value as exceeds £IOO. And a uniform annual fee for Nightsoil removal at £2 per par?, AU the above rates to be payable in one instalment on the 30th day of September, 1921. The Valuation Roll, together with the estimated amounts of expenditure and receipts for the year is now deposited for inspection during office hours at the office of the Council, Edinburgh Street, Pukekohe.
