BREAKDOWN AT POWER HOUSE.

OVERLOADING THE CAUSE.

ADDITIONS TO PLANT NECESSARY

During the last few days the electric light system in the Borough has been somewhat irregular, and has been causing some anxiety The reason of this irregularity is a temporary breakdown of a dynamo at the power station, due to overloading. The demand for electric current in the Borough has been enormous, in fact too great for the present plant, and unless something is done sooner or later, there will be cause for ■'alarm. The disabled dynamo is undergoing- repairs, and until the work is completed consumers should adopt the strictest economy.

At Monday's meeting of the Council the Electric Committee reported that the recent breakdown at the power house emphasises the necessity for urgent action in the matter of .additions to the plant. The committee hope'' to present a report on the matter at the next meting of the Council.
