KURA TOWN BOARD.

USUAL MEETING. The ordinary meeting of the Papakura Town Board was held on Monday when there were present: Messrs S, Evans (chairman), Parker, Weir, Campbell, McLennan, Beams and the clerk (Mr A. L. Cooper); Band Shed for Cadets. ' Application for the use of the band shed for training of senior cadets was made by Lieut. A. Blackburn, area officer, Pukckohe. He pointed out that the Parish Hall was no longer available and he asked for the band shed for Monday evenings, between 7.30 and 9.30 p.m.—The request was granted. Food Water. Mr John Dalbeth gave notice that he would take action against the Board unless the matter of fl’oodihg his property was remedied.—Received. Water Reticulation. 1 The Board’s engineers, Messrs Lockie Gannon and Worley, reported that, the following works had been carried out during the past three weeks Four-inch cast-iron pipes had been ibid in Great South Road from near (the Church of England to Young’s Beach Road and the galvanised wrought iron pipes in the latter road connected thereto. One and aquarter inch wrought iron pipes were laid in a short street' running westward from Great South Road. Sixinch pipes were laid in Great South Road froth Queen Street to Elliott Street. Twenty-two house connections were }aid to boundaries, using 350 ft bf y 2 in pipes and 64ft of 3 /iin pipes. The dam had now been stripped of the false-work and showed that a thoroughly good job had been carried out. They intended to continue laying the l cast-iron pipes in Broadway and Gijfeat South Road.— The report was received.

Marne Road v Footpath. i

It was reported that several carts were being driven along the Marne Road footpath and consequently the path was being cut up<—lt was decided to draw the police’s attention to the matter with a Request that action be taken against offenders.

Road Inspection.

It was resolved to make periodical inspections of the roads iii the Town Board district with a view to ascertaining the conditioin of the various roads under the Board’s jurisdiction. It was reported that somej of the roads were in a bad condition.

The doors opened > inwards instead of outwards. It was' decided that the Board could not a license ■ for such entertainment until the necessary alterations to doors were made. The work is to be completed within seven days otherwise the pictures are to be forbidden It was agreed to procure a roller for the purpose of rolling the Board’s portion of the Great South Road.
