MANUREWA TOWN BOARD.
LAST MEETING, At the last meeting of the Manure wa Town Board there 'were present Messrs T. J. Corin (chairdan), Max D. King, W. T. Cox, C. H. Lupton, Gr.llaher and the clerk (Mr H, Kay).
Workers’ Homes.
The chairman reported that the Board’s solicitors advised the Board not to erect the homes until the title to the land was obtained, which Would not be given until the roads were dedicated.
Mr Cox moved-that the building of the homes be deferred and that a progress payment of £263 be paid out of the loan money. Seconded by Mr Gallaher and carried.
On the motion of Messrs Lupton nod King, it was decided to apply to the Government for permission to erect workers’ homes on the railway reserve at Manurcwa.
It was also agreed .to make final application for the workers’ nomes loan. Overhead Bridge. It was agreed tc write to the State Advances Office asking tnat the money for the overhead bridge be forwarded as expeditiously as possible, £BOOO Road Loan. It was decided, on the motion of the chairman seconded by Mr Lupton, that the balance of the £BOOO road loan, amounting to £4OOO, be lifted. Fir© Escapes. The attention of the building Inspector is to be called regarding fire escapes where they may be necessary. Noxious Weeds. On the motion of Mr King, the owners of properties on Station Road are to be notified to have their frontaces cleared of blackberries within 14 days. Accounts amounting to £2lO were passed for payment.
