GOLF NOTES.

mJDDLEiVIOHRE LINGS, IVIANGERE. Members of the Auckland Golf Club celebrated King’s Birthday with special competitions at the Middlemore links, Mangero. In the morning a one-club competition was held and in the afternoon, a four-ball, best-ball bogey. As with other sports, the weather conditions tended to detract, fioni the success but, despite the heavy rain, the course was in good playing order. Players attended in good numbers, 41 taking part in the one-club competition, which was won by F. Browning with a net score of 7C>. Some fine scores were registered in the four-ball, best-ball bogey competition, many of the contestants holing accurately and driving very creditably. Messrs D. G. Macta I !ane and G. F. Foote were the winners, returning a card of eleven up.
