A feeling has been existent in Fvilekohe for ti.nu' time that the Chamber of Commerce as a body is opposed to the Borough Council as ,i matter of course. That- this is an entirely erroneous view is pr .vod by the fact that the Chamber' of Commerce is most : inxious * a?\tl willing to co-operate with the Council at all times, when mutual co-operation makes for district progress.* •’« Yesterday gave a concrete instance of thus, when the Chamber met the Mayor in the Council Chamber and combined with him as appointee of the Council in discussing important measures with Dr. Valintinc, Chief Health Officer for New Zealand, and Mr W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board. A report of the matters discussed appears in another column, but the point we wish to emphasise here is that the Borough Council and the Chamber of Commerce have but one policy—the progress and development of the district, and there is no idea of opposition existing between the two bodies. It is necessary that we draw public attention to this, because of the feeling that has been created in reny.rd to the Chamber of Commerce,
