BAND CONCERT.
A HUGE SUCCESS. Under the auspices of the Pukekohe Municipal Band "a successful concert was held in the Premier Hall cn Wednesday last, and in spite of the unfavourable climatic conditions there was a fairly large attendance. The band itself rendered a number of items and the vast improvement made was revealed in no small degree and the public showed its appreciation by demanding encores. The band was only recently resuscitated and to appear in public * so soon speaks volumes for the interest taken by members and the conductor (Mr I>. G. Calkin). If the band continues to progress as rapidly in the future as it has done since ij was revived, it will be a credit to the town. During the evening items were also given by Mi.-:s Calkin (pianoforte solo). Mr B V. Cribble (recitations), Messrs Littlejohn and Salter (cornet duet), Mm George (song), Messrs Deed and Clarke (violin duet), Messrs. Cribble and Jones (vocal duet), Mr Thomas (conjuring), Messrs Littlejohn and Calkin (cornet duct), Mr C.
