MANUREWA TOWN BOARD.

FORTNIGHTLY RfIEETiMQ. 'the ordinary meeting of the Mmv.,l’cv.’a Town Board was held on Monday evening of last week, when there were present : Messrs f. J. Corin (chairman), C. H. Lupton, Max D. King, W. TL Cox, Gallagher, Geo. Smith, and clerk (Mr H. Kay), trad foreman (Mr W. Amiss). Sections on Hill Road. In reply to the Board’s reqquest, Mr Geo. Osbourne intimated that he war, prepared to accept £GSO for sections 1,2, and 4 with the right of way on Hill Road. Mr M. D. King said the ' Board should seriously consider the offer because it was a good one. Between 40 and 50 would-be bowlers were interested in the formation of a bowling green, and he believed that the | sites would be an admirable one for the purpose-, and also it would be revenue producing. Apart from this, the two front sections could be utilised for the erection of workers’ dwellings. On his motion it was decided to acquire the property providing suitable financial arrangements could be made with the owner. Messrs King and Lupton. were appointed a sub-committee to interview Mr Osbourne on the matter and report on at next meeting. Bewliny and Croquet Club. On the motion of Mr Lupton, it was decided to convene a meeting of those interested in the formation of bowling and croquet clubs as soon as possible. It was pointed out that a number of locall people were interested in both clubs. JYlassey Read Footpath. A deputation consisting of three residents of Massey road waited on the Board with a request that the footpath be attended to as soon as possible.—The chairman pointed out that the Board had already authorised the tarring and sanding of the path, but the" work was held up pending the arrival of materials. As scon as material arrived the work would be put in hand.
