SHIELD COMPETITIONS COMMENCED. PUKEKOHE V. WAIAU PA. On Saturday last the Pukekohe hockey team visited Waiau Pa to meet the home eleven. A first-class friendly game eventuated, resulting' in a draw, each side scoring one goal. King notched for Waiau and Ravell found the net for Pukekohe. Mr L. C. Kent, of Auckland, proved an impartial referee. After the match the visitors were hospitably entert fined in the Waiaju Hall. GLENBROOK 5 V. PATUMAHOE 0. Glenbrook easily defeated Palumahoe by 5 goals to 0. Mr Nicholson, of Auckland, refereed.
