THE PLUNKET SOCIETY.
SPECIAL MEETING. A special meeting of the Franklin Plunket Society was held in the County offices an Friday, 29th inst. The chair was occupied by the president and there was a good attendance of the committee.
A letter was read from Dr. Truby King, falling in with the suggestion of lecturing in Pukekohe. It was decided to ask the followinggentleman to form the personnel of an advisory board:— His Worship the Mayor, Dr. Wake, Dr. CampbellSmith, Mr H. G. R. Mason, Mr. F. Perkins and Mr W. T. Jones. The secretary was asked to make arrangements concerning a rest room or tent for mothers at the Winter Show
Various schemes were discussed re raising money for the cause. It was decided to have a subscription list, also for a deputation of ladies to wait on the County Council and the Borough Council for a donation.
It was decided to defer the street stall and substitute a concert, introducing Mrs O’Brien’s dancing pupils.
A vote of thanks was passed to all performers and those who kindly assisted in the picture and musical entertainment, also to those who lent furniture.
The secretary was asked to write thanking Mrs O’Brien for her offer of help. The Society was pleased to accept it and will arrange a date later.
