WANUREWA. A memorial service was held on j Sunday in the Manurewa Picture i Ha'!, when there was a large attend- | ance. Mr C. H. Lupton presided. | Rev. W. Small field conducted the reli- ! oious portion of the service and. gave } a very appropriate address. Interest ; however was chiefly centred on the | speeches of Captains G. E. Eliott, A. ir. A. Sexton and -J. D. McCornish, | all veterans, and who bear the scars 'of war. In straight and homely : terms they captivated the attention old and young and impressed upon ;,i\ the duty of preserving Anzac Day and keeping green the memory of ; the glorious dead, and urged the young to play the game in every walk jOl flip. A large number of floral tributes were placed upon the obelisk, includ- ' a handsome wreath from the T. ■ -■..■ - Hoard.
