At the Police Court this momma', before Mr J. T. Stembridge, J.P.. Alfred Crosby was charged that on or about March 10... at Te Kauwhata, lie obtained goods to the value of £2l. by means of a certain false pretence, to wit a valueless cheque. Sergt. Cowan said Crosby had only been arrested that morning and as the police wanted to make certain inoniri--.--. ! - n;j• >; << d for a remand until Wednesday! May 4, at Mercer. The application was granted. Bail was :i>;ed in one surety of £SO.
