We understand that Mr John Routly. the Chamber of Commerce nominee for Mayoral honours, will address the burgesses on Borough affairs or. April 25. THE COUNCIL. Xlp to th© present several gentlemen have signified their intention of contesting the eight seats on the Borough Council, among those being Messrs V. S. Roberts, R. G. V. Fear, 3, G Ward, A. P. Davsh, F. J. Mortow, W. S. Russell, R. Bilkey, R. Higginsou and D. R. Hamilton, while probable candidates are Messrs. G. H. Armstrong. R. H. McGough, J. Patterson ar.d J. H. Keith, of the retiring Council, and Messrs J. T. Stembridge, M. Cronin and Mr Jas. Kennelly. If the above-mentioned decide definitely to “come out,” the municipal elections generally will be looked forward to with interest.
