BOROUGH COUNCIL.

SPECIAL MEETING. A special meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council -was held on Wednesday evening, when there were present the Mayor (Mr C. K. Lawrie) and Cis D. R. Hamilton, J. Patterson, G. H. Armstrong, R. H. McGough, J. H. Keith, R. Bilkey, F. J. Morrow and the clerk (Mr J. F. Deane). The clerk presented the district electors supplementary list containing 171 names, viz,, 40 ratepayers, 1 freehold, and 130 residential qualifications. He reported that 19 names had been removed from the main roll for various reasons. The question of the validity of the claim for enrolment of Mr John lioutly under a residential qualification was raised by Cr. Patterson. After discussion Cr. Hamilton moved and Cr. McGough seconded that the hst as submitted be adopted and certified to by the Council. Crs Armsti ong and Patterson voted against the proposal which wac carried. The Mayor and Crs Patterson and Hamilton were authorised to sign the Hst. Anzac Day. The Mayor and the town clerk were instructed to arrange with the clergymen of the various demoninations to hold a combined service on Anzac Day, April 25.
