MANUREWA. / The Manurewa public school picnic was held on 24th March, in a paddock kindly lent by Mr W. Cox for tiie purpose. Although the weather was rather threatening, the whole affair, sports, provisions, etc., vras voted a decided success. Miss Grace Bodle won the girl’s championship race, and Master Evans the boys’. These prizes—the Girl’s Own Annual and the Boys’ Own Annual—were donated by Mr Vipond and Mr C. Hawthorn respectively. The teachers and members of the committee forked hard to achieve success. Cheers were given for Mr and . Mrs W. Cox fur their kindness in granting the use of the paddock and doing all in their power to help, also for the ladies, who so kindly attended to the catering.
