oralty of the Borough is that at the forthcoming election Mr J. Routly, a well-known and respected citizen,

will contest the seat. Mr R. F.Web- - ster has definitely stated that he will withdraw in favour of Mr Routlys candidature. It is also rumoured

that Mr Mason may also withdraw. If tlfis is so, it will mean a clear cut contest between the present Mayor (Mr C. K. Lawrie) and Mi

Routly. It is stated that Mr Routly will address the electors in due course. The Chamber of Commerce has decided to support Mr Routly, and is commencing a campaign to insure his return.
