MANUKAU LAWN TENNIS ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the above Association was held in the hall, Ardmore, when six clubs were represented. Correspondence was received from the Brookby Club protesting against the shield being awarded to the Ardmore Club on the ground that Ardmore did not play its team in order of merit. The tournament entries were received and the ties drawn. It decided that play start at 10 a.m. sharp on Saturday, April 2nd, at Ardmore, with ladies' and gent’s singles, to be continued on the 9th at 10 a.m., and the unfinished doubles will be played on the 16th. Mr Don was deputed to purchase eight trophies, of the value of one pound each. The next meeting will be held on April 6th, when the revision of the rules will be considered.

The protest between Brookby and Ardmore was heard, and after a long discussion, it was resolved that the match be cancelled, and that no award of the shield be made for this season. The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the chairman (Mr W. K. Willis.)
