These districts include the boroughs of Lower Hutt, Masterton, Carterton, Palmerston North, Blenheim, Te Awamutu Motueka, Whangarei, Cambridge Stratford and Te Aroha. In 1920, fifteen districts adopted the Saturday' half-holiday; in 1919, nine; in 1918, four; in 1917, six; in 1916 one; in 1915 four; and fifteen adopted it prior to 1915. The total is now 85. Of the four chief centres, Auckland and Wellington adopted the Saturday half-holiday before 1915; and Wellington and Dunedin carried it in 1915. Fifteen towns have adopted it and subsequently changed to the Wednesdav or another half-holi-day.
