Mr. W. F. Massey has scored another diplomatic victory. There seemed to be little likelihood of finality being reached in connection with the waterside dispute. Mr Massey was eventually requested by both sides to act practically as arbitrator, and he consented to do so, with the geneiexpected result, viz., a settlement of the trouble. A remarkable record has been established by Mr Massey in the matter of using his influence in the settling of industrial disputes, and a significant fact is the confidence which is reposed in the Prime Minister by Labour.
