MANUREWA TOWN BOARD.
MONDAY’S MEETING. The ordinary meeting ol the Manurewa Town Board was held on Monday evening, when there were present: Messrs T. J. Gorin (chairman), C. H. Lupton, M. D. King,* S. Gallaher, Cox, Smith and the clerk (Mr. H. Kay). Railway Reserve. In reply to the Board’s representations to the Prime Minister requesting that a portion of the railway reserve be handed over for purposes of recreation, the General Manager, New Zealand Railways, stated he regretted that as the reserve was required for the extension of railway facilities,.the request could not be complied with. Manurewa Overhead Bridge. On the motion of Messrs Lupton and King, it was decided that nothing be done to the diverting of the road at the Manurewa overhead bridge until all interested people were called together and the position explained. It was resolved to meet those interested on Monday next at S p.m. I- Workers’ Dwellings. y The budding inspector was instructed to prepare plans and specifics-' tions and to call tenders for the - erection of two workers’ dwellings for the Board. , The building inspector was authorised to enforce the provisions of the by-laws in connection with persons eie-cting buildings which were not in accordance with the by-laws. It was reported that one man building a •bouse was not erecting the structure in accordance with the regulations. The defects are to be remedied within 14 days otherwise legal proceedings will be taken.
