MARKET REPORT
Mr. J. Jones, auctioneer, on the corner, City Markets, reports sales for week ending March 5, 1921. The market this week has been exceptionally brisk, and a large volume of business has been put through. We penned heavy supplies of poultry and pigs at to-day’s auction and values were about the same as last week’s. Good heavy birds are in good demand and cockerels and poor hens were neglected. Pigs are a shade easier. We handled a large quantity of fruit this week and high values were realised. Butter and eggs are selling well We call attention to our previously advertised second sale of manures and high quality grass seeds, which will take place on March 15, in our store. Potatoes show a marked upward tendency. Prices for potatoes this show an advance of fully, £2 per ton on last week’s report.
