S.M. COURT.

(Before Mr R. M. Watson, S.M.) A short sitting of the Court was held yesterday in Pukekohe before Mr R. M. Watson, S.M. MAINTENANCE. William Pearce was charged with being £2O in arrears with a maintenance order. In defence he stated he was a cabinetmaker and was unable to get work. Finally the Bench defrred the case until next Court day. MISCELLANEOUS. Frank Smedley (no appearance) was charged with being in charge of a horse and gig and while drving at Pukeno persisted in keeping to the wrong side of the road. Fined 5s and costs 7s. Harold Bilkey (no appearance) was charged with driving a horse and gig in King Street, Pukekohe, at 9 p.m. without lights as required by the bylaws. Convicted and fined 10s nad costs ss. Matthew Impey (no appearance) was charged with being drunk on the Tuakau railway station, and ordered to forfeit bail 10s. CIVIL CASES. Franklin County Council v. Morris, claim for rates amounting to £lB 19s 6d. Judgment for plaintiff council. Same v. Joseph Paul Bradley, rates owing £7 3s 7d. Judgment for council by default with coSts. Same v. W. T. Pollock, £12,, 9s 9d for rates due. Judgment for Council by default.
