WEDDING.

BROOKE-WARHAFT. A pretty wedding was celebrated on Wednesday, February 23, at St. Andrew’s Church, Epsom, when Miss Ivy Warhaft, eldest daughter of Mrs Violet Warhaft and the late David Warhaft, of Devonport, was married to Mr. Richard Stanley Brooke, only son of Mrs. Florence Brooke and the late Mr Arthur Brooke, of Papatoetoe. The bride, who was given away fcf her brother, Mr. Eric Warhaft, daintily attired in a cream silk knitted jumper frock and wore a large white hat of silk and tule. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white roses and maidenhair fern. The bride was supported by her sister, Miss Ena Warhaft, who wore pale pink chiffon over satin and a large white hat. She carried a gorgeous bouquet of pink roses. Mr. Percy Thorne, of Alfriston, attended the bridegroom as best man and the Rev. Lionel Harvey conducted the impressive ceremony. The happy couple left by the Rarawa for New Plymouth. They will tour the southern parts of the North Island and will return north after a period of about one month. They were the recipients of many valuable and useful presents. Mr Brooke is well known in the Franklin district, where he was engaged in well-boring operations with his partner, Mr. Fred. Winter, for a considerable time. Recently he has bored a number of wells at Pukekohe and in the vicinity.
