TAKA PUNA V. PAPATOETOE. Although the second grade match played at Papatoetoe and Takapuna resulted in a win for the visitors, 7—6, there v'as not much to choose between the two teams, judging from their form on Saturday, Feb. 19, except that the ladies of the home team were someviiat superior. The scores were, Takapuna names first in every instance:— Gent.’ Singles.—Chalmers beat Malcolm, 9 —7;Robinson beat R. Wyllie, 9— 4; Melville beat Carruth, 9—3; Symonds Tost to Gleeson, 7 —9. Gent.’s Doubles.—Melville and Chalmers beat Malcolm and Carruth, 9—5; Buddie and Symonds beat Gleeson and R. Wyllie, 9—5; Robinson and beat C. Elder and F. Wyllie. 3 —4/ Ladies’ Singles,—-Miss 'Man lost to Miss- Weston, 3—9; Miss O’Neil lost to Miss Haslip, 3 —9. Ladies’ Doubles.—Misses Mann and O’Neil lost to Misses Weston and Haslip, 3—9; Mrs Buddie and Mrs. McMullen lost to Mrs. Bryant and Mrs. McLaren, 6—9. Combined Double—Mrs Buddie and Buddie beat Mrs Bryant and Elder, 9—6; Mrs. McMullen and Instone lost to Mrs. McLarsen and F. Wyllie, 6—9. OTAHUHU AND PAPATOETOE. Otahuhu won the third grade match played against Papatoetoe at Otahuhu on February 19, the results being 7 games to 6. ;
In the croquet match, the Papatoetoe ladies won by 36 points. The teams comprised—Howick: Mrs Gill Mrs Waldron, Mrs Wyatt, Mrs Boyes, Mrs Litten, Mrs Mclnness -Mrs Grainger, Mrs. Boyes, 189 points. Papatoetoe: Mesdames Daisley, Death, Cutforth, Leonard, Bryant, Smytheman, Misses Gane and Hamilton, 225 points.
