WAR GRATUITIES.
FINAL DAY FOR CLAIMS. The classes of persons entitled to receive war gratuities in respect of men who served abroad were extended somewhat by amending legislation passed last session. The War Expenses Branch has notified persons whom it considers might be so affected, but it is possible that some may have been overlooked. It is desired therefore, that all such persons shall send in their claims. The department also notifies, in order that all individual accounts may be cleaned up finally, that aiter March 31, 1921, no claims for separation allowances, children’s and dependent's allowances, gratuities, remissions of forfeitures, difference between Territorial and Expeditionary Force rates of pay for fi.st months in camp (foreign branch only), expenses, etc., will be entertained. This final date for submission of claims will also apply to claims for the difference between Imperial rates of pay and allowances, and the New Zealand rates for equivalent ranks for those persons who served in tho Imperial, naval, military, and air forces during the war.
