OURSELVES.
To-day the “Times” comes before our readers in, we believe, a much improved, form. While this growth reflects a progressive policy on the part of the proprietors, it also reflects the general growth and advancement of Franklin as a whole. Believing that “that is only useful which serves,” it has been our aim in enlarging the paper to increase its usefulness and with the co-operation of the business men and settlers of the Franklini district we believe we shall succeed. The “Times” has never, at any time, claimed to be on a par with a big city daily any more than one would expect a country store to be on a par with a big city department house, but this paper does claim to be one of the fastest growing provincial journals in the Dominion, and also that it serves the rich and prosperous district of Franklin in a comprehensive way by reporting all local body meetings and general district news. To be a resident of the territory within its scope means that of necessity ' one must subscribe to the “Times.” The ever-
growing circulation list proves that the above is true. In the matter of advertising it is our policy to sell space to district arms first and firms in other centres afterwards. Having attained to the dignity of an eightpage publication we are already looking forward to becoming a tri-weekly though that must be a matter of some months yet owing to the fluctuations of the paper market. In the meantime let us co-operate to advance Franklin and give it a newspaper worthy of the district.
