The sum of £2 Is lias been received by Mr J. Himburg, of the Community Sing Committee', from the Portobellu School, the money representing the proceeds of a penny concert held on Wednesday at the school. The concert was arranged by the children themselves as their contribution towards the fund for parcels for prisoners of war. They showed a very commendable spirit, said Mr Hamburg, and the financial result was very gratifying. The attention of Manchester Unity members is drawn to an advertisement in these columns, the main feature of which is in reference to the date of entries for the Harrop Scholarship. The Railway Department advises particulars of special (rain arrangements m connection with trotting meetjng at Oamani on Labour Dayl.
