BURNS CLUB CONCERT

The Dunedin Burns Club held its 60Sth monthly concert in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall on Wednesday night, the attendance of members and visitors being much larger than for some months past. The president (Mr J. W. Sutherland) and Mr D. Maider (vice-president) were piped to the stage by the piper, Mr J. Me Yean The greater portion of the programme was provided by the Leech Lyric Choir, conducted by Mr J. T. Leech. After the National Anthem and the club’s opening ode had been rendered by the choir, the president extended a welcome to the visitors. Other contributions to the programme were: Songs—Mr J. Swan, Miss Sadie Anderson. Miss Betty Payne; Highland o.iels—Misses Dorothy Baxter, Isohel Gray, Pat Reid, and Shir.ey Smith; songs —Miss Eileen Gillies, Mr James' 1 Ferguson, accompanied by the choir; piano duets, Misses. .Olive and Ellice Neiper: Songs— Miss Jean McLay, Mr J. T, Leech. The accompanist was Miss Doris McKinlay.
