NEW ZEALAND AIRMEN
GIFTS TO BOMBER SQUADRONS (N.Z.P.A, Special Correspondent.) (Rec. 8 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 20. The High Commissioner, Mr W. J. Jordan, will shortly present to the 75th (New Zealand) Wellington Bomber Squadron 12 tankards which are a present from the former commanding officer, Group-captain M. W. Buckley. This is a time-honoured l practice, and tlie majority of the officers have presented tankards to the squadron. Many of the tankards, unfortunately, now bear the names of men lost over Germany.
Air Commodore L. M. Isitt shortly will also present a New Zealand torpedo bomber squadron with a picture of a kiwi sent to England by Mr Harry Mackintosh (Wellington), on behalf of ■the Civil Service Club. Air Commodore Isitt had it framed. The squadron’s crest includes a kiwi standing on a torpedo, for .which reason the picture is most appropriate.
