OCTAGON’S NEW FEATURE
The screen dramatisation of Richard Llewellyn’s famous best-selling novel, ‘ How Green Was My Valley,’ which 'comes to the Octagon Theatre to-morrow, has impressed all who have seen it and read the book with the fidelity of its production. It reveals the trials and love*, the joy*; and sorrows of a "typical family of a Welsh mining village—a family that could not be conquered by force of arms, hardships, hunger, or hate, nor yet by the turbulent years that stole the greenness from its valley. The whole story has been skilfully handled by a cast chosen for the quality of its dramatic acting. Walter Pidgeon, fresh from liis sid ling performance in ‘ Man Hunt,’ capably tills the role of Grufl’ydd, the mini<ier, who i* captivated by Angharad (played by Maureen O’Hara), the lovely daughter of Gwilym Morgan (Donald Cri*nL about \vho«<? family 'the Mory is woven. • Also prominent are Anna Lee and Rorldv McDowell, the young Knglidi actor who has recently made a spectacular ascent to stardom,.
