COMMUNITY SING

The proceeds of this week’s community sing, lo be held in the Strand Theatre on Friday, will again bo devoted to the prisoners of war weekly parcels fund. Special donations which have been received include a full set of ‘ The Science of Business,’ complete with bookcase, and a Bible printed in Gaelic. A pair, of retriever puppies will also be offered for sale. The winner of the men’s vocal scholarship at the Dunedin Competitions (Mr I. F. Collins) will sing ‘ House by the Side of the Road,’ ‘ I’ll Walk Beside You,’ and ‘ Yeomen of England.’ The community singing will bo led by Mr H. P. Desmoulins, with Mr A. Pettilt at the piano. Donations may be sent to Mr J. F. Himburg, care of Begg’s.
