To imagine Hess safe from the judgment of the people’s tribunal for the duration of the war is to close one’s eyes to the crimes of one of Hitler’s most bloodthirsty criminals.”
SCUTTLED BATTLESHIP
GRAF SPEE TO BE RAISED

MONTEVIDEO, October 19. The Uruguayan Government has authorised a private firm to raise the hull of the scuttled German pocket battleship Graf Spee from the bottom of the River Plate to reclaim the ship’s steel. The Graf Spee has been gradually sinking in mud since salvagers removed the superstructure a year ago.
CHILE ARRESTS AXIS SUBJECTS
