(Special to the * Star.’) Adina and Rockery disputed favouritism in the Otaio Hurdles, but while the former raced up to his recent consistent form. Rockery failed badly owing to some faulty jumping, especially near the mile post. The race was won in a convincing manner by Lady Don, who was always one of the leading division. Adina gained second money from Norse, who beat the fast-finishing Midgard by a neck, in front of Recollection, Nightcalm, an Taxpayer. • Damascus justified his staunch favouritism for the Spring Stakes by a narrow yet decisive win. Retainer, who drew wide out, went to.the front at the'end of two furlongs, and led to the straight entrance from Damascus, Silver Sox, Stourbridge, and Gayfort. Retainer was soon done with, and Damascus was challenged in turn by Silver Sox, Stourbridge, and Gayfort. In an interesting finish Damascus held on to win comfortably from Silver , Sox) while Gayfort got third place from Stourbridge on the post. Retainer, three lengths back, headed the stfung-out remainder. All Night, having his first race over a middle distance, outclassed his opponents by leading throughout the Teschemaker Handicap, and winning in an effortless manner. AM Night was followed into the back stretch by Atrous, The Raker, and Eulogist, with Boloyna and Wardress in the rear. There was not much change to the straight entrance, 1 where All Night still showed the way to Atreus, Eulogist, The 'Raker, and The Joker, with Gocd Scout also prominent. Atreus and Good Scout could not carry on, and The Joker drew into second place, but had no chance of getting to All Night, who was never called on. The Raker was a good thirds beating Eulogist by a head, with Atreus and Good Scout next.

Fur Coat won the Taiko Hack Handicap practically from end to end. He was accompanied by True Mate to the straight entrance, but the latter did not last long, and Fur Coat was challenged in turn by Hmepo, fcßali, Miss Saone, and Coy. The last-paraed put in some telling work over the final stages, and had Fur Coat fully extended to gain a very narrow verdict T \ mi £ th , away ’ Miss Saone bea t Hinepo by half a head. Kernel, well back, headed the remainder. Lady Nuffield was well hack■ entering the straight, and narrowly missed a fall.

Scottish Dale had a very impressive win in the Flying Handicap. The race was marred by a mishap two furlongs from home, where Leighnor, running in behind the three leaders, fell, and Stabilize and Sally Lunn went over him. King Herod Grilse, and Hurry Girl were abreast entering the straight from Scottish Dale, who was checked and forced over on to the rails by the falling horses. She had to be pulled to the outside of the leading trio to get a run, but once dear she put in a bnlhant'dash to win decisively from King Herod, while Grilse bea;'; Hurry Girl on the post for third money. Sham Boy was next. Leighnor broke a leg add was destroyed. The riders of the fallen hor=es escaped without injury. There was another mild surprise in the Kerrytown Hack Handicap, the best supported horses all failing. On Call was the early leader from Imperium, Milton Abbas, and Dash o Dublin, but Milton Abbas was first into the straight from Dash o Dublin, Golden Herald, Nightglass and Arabian Night. 1 All these bunched in’. side the final furlong, but Dash o’ Dublin . an< ? sooh P ,aced the issue Mm™ Am Ubt ’ T" n ,‘ n S comfor tably from Milton Abbas, who h»d off, the fast-finish-ing Prince Shad.
