BOXING CHAMPION
KO INTENTION OF RETIRING (Rec. 8 a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 13. Although the Press is giving tremendous publicity to Joe Louis s reported retirement, Louis told the boxing promoter, Mike Jacobs, emphatically that he is not retiring- Furthermore, as soon as the war is over he will bo back in the ring defending his title. The New York Athletic Commissioner, Mr J. Phelan, declared that Louis will be regarded as world champion until he submits written notice of his retirement.
