A. E. Oldham will take Strip and Boloytia on to Trenlliani alter Saturday s racing at Waslidyke, and J. A. White will lollow the' same programme with 'Hie Joker and Lady Nuffield Though All flight has yet to prove his ability to stay over a nine and a-quarter he shares favouritism in the ame-post betting on the Teschemakcr Handicap with Atreus and The Joker. At the annual general meeting of the Vincent Jockey Cluo held this afternoon the members were to be assed to decide whether a one-day meeting should be held in Janu ary on the club's course, permission having been refused to hold the nature at Wingatui. Strip, who has now won in his last two stans over hurdles, has been given 10.4 in. (he mile and three-quarters hurdle race on the first day of the Wellington meeting. He carried 10.2 when he won last Saturday, but will be up against much stronger opposition if he makes the trip to Wellington. Lord Nuffield has been causing his trainer a good deal of anxiety lately, the trouble being wind galls. He suffered from this trouble last season, but it did not prevent him winning five times. He heads the handicap for the six furlongs race at Trentliam next week with 9.6, but will not make the trip. ■ . , . . Kindergarten, who is now trained by J. Phillips, is already at Trentliam, though he will not be racing until the second day of the meeting. He is said to be still big in condition, but moving soundly in hi? work. His mission at tins meeting will be the Harcourt Stakes, a weight-for-age race over a mile and three furlongs. With a view to preventing unwieldy fields at its spring meeting, the v.A.T.C. li«s_ announced that no owner will be allowed to accept two horses in one race or accept Uic same horse in two races on the same day. This will not apply to the Caulfield Cup, but the committee will reserve the right to eliminate horses that have not shown form, after consultation with the stipendiary stewards. , , The following are the acceptances for the Cauifield Guineas Amazed, Tlayard. CllKlfield Dennis James, Emphatic, Grain. Trader, Great Britain, Harob, Hunlingdale, Illyrain, Leahero, Manutoto, Masfino, Parida, Philip. Quezon, Register. William 8.10, Conqueror Carruca. Naiong, Whitelino 8,5. , Tlie Hannon Memorial Handicap, £450, l|m, to be run at Oamarli on Labour Hav, has drawn an entry of 20, including the" following New Zealand Cup candidates:, —Peter Smith, Dusky Sound, Loyal Bey, Fine 'Art, Gold Bar, Great Jewel, Bronze Eagle, Fremont, Colonel Grattan, and Bayard. No Cup candidates have been engaged in the President’s Handicap, 2m. It is suggested that the cause, of oxhaven's two bad performances at the Grand National meeting and in the John Grigg Stakes was because he has an objection to racing next the rails. When lie won at the Christchurch Hunt meeting lie was on the outside of a big field all tlie way, and in the Dunedin Guineas, though starting frcim No. 1 position at the barrier, was immedi ateiy steadied and taken to tlie outside. The Joker has been allotted 7.0 in tlie Wellington Racing Club Handicap to be run over a mile and three furlongs on tlie opening dav of the Wellington meeting. After vetting” a very bad passage in the Ranfurly Handicap last Saturday The Joker finished very' stronglv, ' and in a few more strides, would have beaten The Raker out of third place. The extra half-furlong of the race at Trentliam will not trouble him, provided his trainer can get the services of a good horseman to ride him at- the weight. A Inie to his form should be available after the Timaru meeting on Saturday, where he is . one of the ante-poet favourites for the Teschemakcr Handicap. A win at Wash•dyke will make him liable to be rehandicapped for his Wellington engagement. Oamaru Handicaps.
