SHARE MARKET. The general undertone of the market on ’Change this morning remained firm, buyers seeking most issues, with the usual lack of sellers. One exception among Government Stock was of Wav Loan (1953), where a seller at £93 was 10s in advance of the best buying bid. Standard Insurance wore quoted slightly wider, buyers seeking business at 655, with sellers noii-responsivc at 67s 6d. The only activity in woollens was with Bruce (ord.), the market closing 25s buyers, sellers 9d away. Among miscellaneous shares McLeod Tiros, attracted attention, and at tlie end of Hie call-over £25 10s was being asked for them, buyers offering £24 15s. In oil shares Taranakis wore-still sought at 5; 3d. Mining script saw activity in Mount Lyclls, which were quoted 27s 3d buyers, ZBs 6d sellers, and in Gillespie’s, sellers asking Sjd. At a meeting of directors, of the Perpetual Trustees, Estate, and Agency Company of New Zealand Lid., yesterday, an interim dividend at the rale of 9d a share, and payable on October 29, was declared for the six months ended September 30.
