SPIERS.—On October 12, 1942, at Dunedin, John, James, of 159 Victoria road, St. Kilda, beloved husband of the late Mary Spiers, and loved father of John, Peter, Stanley, and Nancy (Mrs W. P. Hartstonge); in his eighty-fourth year. “ Rest in peace.” —Requiem Mass at 9 a.m. at the Basilica, Oamaru, on Wednesday, 14th inst. Funeral immediately after. —Stringer and Wilson, funeral directors, Oamaru. WINEFIELD.—On October 5,-1942, at her residence, 83 Wood street, Palmerston North, Jessie Winefield, dearly loved mother of Jean, Madge, William, James, Cecil, Leslie, and Bruce; aged 72 years.
